I had a flu vaccination today. It didn't hurt very much, but I nearly fainted. I think next time I'll ask the doctor if I can lie down when he gives me the vaccination. I'm not sure what causes it. I wasn't very nervous about it and it didn't hurt very much. I just got this awful sick feeling and had to lie down. I tried to get up after a few minutes, but started to faint again. I was fine after I waited a few more minutes and sat up again.

Two of the computers at the radio station are down. One has a failing hard disk. We don't know what's wrong with the other one. They're both old computers. Everyone is stuck using the other computers. It doesn't bother me too much. I can come in any time to do my playlists and recording if someone else needs a computer. I've done this Friday's and Monday's playlists. I just need to do the recording for Friday and put the ads in for both of them, which doesn't take very long. I wanted to do more today, but I was still feeling a bit off from the flu vaccination, so I went home early.

When you're stuck in a boring class or meeting, what's your favorite way to keep yourself entertained (or at least from falling asleep)?

I used to write stories or draw pictures. Pretty typical stuff, really. These days I generally play a favourite song over and over again in my head (usually changing the lyrics to something funny or just plain weird).

Yeah. I'll bet it wouldn't have rained if I hadn't hung out the washing. And then, just five minutes after I'd hung it out, it stops raining! The weather is so mean.

I had to chase our chook out from under the house this afternoon. I had to bribe her with dog biscuits before she'd come out. She loves dog biscuits. She gets jealous when I feed Cindy. It's so funny.

Our bird is doing okay. He's still a bit timid, but he's getting better. We've been handling him a lot trying to get him tamer. He'll sit quite happily on our shoulders, but he doesn't like hands anywhere near him. He also gets upset if he's left alone. Even if we all just leave the room, he starts making a fuss.

I've had to get Mum to pick me up from the radio station for the last couple of Mondays. It's been too hot to walk Cindy home. I think we're going to have a very hot Christmas. We've had a few little technical problems at the radio station lately. We haven't had the news working for a few weeks (we need a new satellite dish or something). I don't think anybody is really missing it. Personally, I like doing my show better with no news. I just have to make sure I put more songs in to take up the time the news would normally take up.

We lost our bird that night. Charlie's miserable. He spends a lot of time in front of the mirror and is grumpy all the time. We're definitely not getting another bird.

We're looking after S's dog Petals. She and Cindy get on fine. They were both really excited at first, but they've settled down now. It's good that they're not running around the house or anything. I managed to get some photos of Petals. I'll have to see if I can get them on the computer and put them up.

Our next door neighbour's dog is getting better. He's limping a bit and doesn't go outside much, but he seems happy enough.

One of our birds is sick. It's our old bird. He's been sleepy and has no energy. The vet said he's malnourished and gave us worming medicine and anti biotics. Hopefully that's all it is and he gets better. We've been hand feeding him to make sure he eats. We have to keep our other bird Charlie in a different cage. Charlie-bird isn't happy at all. He's always looking for Babe and squawks endlessly when he can't see him. The poor thing will be so sad if anything happens to his mate. I think we'll keep him upstairs if we do lose the other bird. It isn't fair for him to not have any company when he's used to another bird around, and I don't think Angela would want to get another bird.

Things have been going good at the radio station. We've had a bit of trouble getting the news to come on. It normally comes on every hour automatically. Hopefully we'll have it fixed by Wednesday. I have to say that I did prefer doing my show today without the news. I had no interruptions at all. Heaven!

Our next door neighbours' dog got hurt. Poor thing has a cut from his back down his side. The vet said it was too clean and sharp to have been an accident. The dog was outside it's yard when it happened. He's okay considering his injury, but it's going to take a while for him to get better. K had him outside last night. Cindy wanted to go out there, but I was afraid she'd try to play with him. K was really upset. She's taking time off school to look after him, because he can't be left alone at all.

Cindy and I went to the hair dresser this morning. Cindy had to sit by my chair and got hair all over her. Payback for getting hair all over the house, missy! Not that she cared.

I've been sick for the past couple of weeks. Dad got it first, then Mum and I got it. I had to miss a live show one Monday because I couldn't talk very well. A lot of other people at the radio station have also been sick.
It's been getting hot here. I think it's starting to get too hot to walk Cindy home from the radio station when I finish up. The last couple of days we walked home she dug her heels in. I might have to start getting someone to pick me up on days when I don't finish early.

Note to self: If you insist on keeping junk you don't have any use for, don't be surprised when you end up with a huge, heavy bag to dump when you finally decide to do a clean out. Who knew I had that much stuff lying around?

We upgraded one of the computers to Windows Vista at the radio station. What a nightmare! It just happens to be our recording computer and we still haven't got it working right after three days. I'm so glad I won't have to upgrade my home computer any time soon. I got more RAM put in it. It's still a bit slow, but it runs everything a lot better now and doesn't complain about me doing too much at once like it used to.

Me: "I just want to listen to music at the same time as surfing the Net!"

Computer: "No way!" *Freeze*

Me: *Whack!*

Needless to say, the computer and I have a much better relationship now.

Cindy ate a snow cone on Sunday. We were at the markets and she was in a bad mood and hot, so I gave her some water. That didn't seem to be enough, so Mum gave her a bit of snow cone. She wolfed it down and then wanted the rest. I had to give Mum $2 for another snow cone.

An instructor came yesterday for a follow-up visit. I swear that as soon as Cindy saw him she decided to be as stubborn and rascally as possible. We walked to the radio station. Cindy was so slow on the way there. She dug her heels in a few times on the way back so I had to use the cane for part of the way. She was fine once we were halfway home. The instructor knew that this isn't Cindy's usual behavior. I guess Cindy's not the only dog who plays up on follow-up visits. I walked her home from the town square today and she was a complete angel, the rat!
